haven't really mad all too much forward motion since last time, but the supply has come and go for the refurbished macbook. it looks like the total cost for a refurbished macbook is $935.53. i'm currently at $600, but i will be getting $280 from watching gilbert and helping my parents get too and from the airport. which will give me a total of $880. which means i am only 55.53 away from my new macbook. to help get to this goal i am selling an extra 17 inch dell monitor i have, josh has voiced an interest in it, a bunch of my seasons of tv shows, i dont watch them and i dont really have a place for them, and i have two extra xboxs i wish to get rid of. i wish i had more stuff i thought was worth selling. i guess i could make sure i have ripped all my cds and then sell them seeing as i dont listen to the actual cd much any more. i have quite a few. too many to name.
but there is also the issue of rent. which i can pay...ish. my next check comes prob this thurs, but rent is due on the 5th and the next check will prob arive a few days after that, prob the 9th or 10th. so really any income is good income.
and books, i need them, cause i dont have them yet. math is by far my most expensive class with the book costing about $80, and an online thing i have to pay for costing like $40. english is only like $30, and speach has no book to buy.
which reminds me, i need to schedual a meeting with someone from financial aid and a meeting with my counsler.
which i can do cause tomorrow's english class is cancled, and math isnt until 2.
TV shows if anyone is interested
Alias (season 1-4) 5 just wasnt worth buying
Family guy Volume 1 (season 1 &2) never opened
Family guy Volume 3 (Season 4)
Flight of the concords (season 1)
Heroes (season 1) never opened
wow this turned into a large update. go me!
i'm currently sitting at $600, and i have decided to buy the refurb macbook for $150 less than a new one.
still just as fancy, still 1 year warranty, same bells and whistles. but cheaper. downside is that it has to be
shipped to me :( but its like 2-6 day shipping from the day they ship it, i'm hopeing 2 days cause apple home
base is a few miles away. too bad i cant drive over there and pick it up directly!
anyway, so my parents are paying me to take care of gilbert this week until they get back for about $250 which would bring my total up to $850 and i just sold a computer i built to josh, so that was $50 and i have a monitor i plan to sell him for another $50 so that is a total of $950. when apple has it in stock, which they currently dont, its $849 plus tax which comes to about $930. then the question becomes is the extended warrenty worth the extra $150+?
the other issue becomes if i cant find a refurb version so i continue to save up and just buy a new one from a store with my student discount which brings the total to like $1032. hmmm...
so after my birthday and such i am now up to $400!!! $600 left!
still need to figure out what i can sell/work i can get paid for.
but for having just over a month left i feel progress!
so i have decided to save up for a macbook. few reasons that i want one.
fancy new toy to play with. it will give me more skills with mac, easy to learn.
its a solid piece of hardware. i can run windows and linux on it if i really want to.
and it seems like fun.
downside is that i need to save $1046 but i will get $200 back cause draven
has agreed to help me out and buy the ipod touch that comes with the laptop.
and i need to buy this by sept 8th before the ipod deal is gone. on the upside
i just sold my laptop to my mom for $250, so that leaves just under $800.
hmmm what else can i sell? or rather where can i find people who need computer
work done for my rate of $75/hr which would be just over 10hr of work.
could be done!

well i just got hit by an aim fish bot. kinda annoying till i figured out i wasn't talking to a bot but rather a bewildered young man. apparently it watches for new livejournal, twitter posts, and then looks for an AIM sn attached to it.
at the bottom of the blog below, you can request your own if you want.

But the internet is a city and, like any great city, it has monumental libraries and theatres and museums and places in which you can learn and pick up information and there are facilities for you that are astounding - specialised museums, not just general ones.
But there are also slums and there are red light districts and there are really sleazy areas where you wouldn't want your children wandering alone ...
And I think people must understand that about the internet - it
is a new city, it's a virtual city and there will be parts of it of
course that they dislike, but you don't pull down London because it's
got a red light district.

alright i guess, if you teach me exactly what you need i can prob do it! read more
